"Scrappy Rail Fence"

Another finish! We're truly on the home stretch now...at least of the first 19 tops that I made. After this one, I only have 3 more finished quilts to show you (at this time - in this series)!

This was number 6 in my upcycled blues series of quilt tops that I made.

It was rather large - 100"x112"  and thus touches the ground as I took the pictures.

Scrappy Rail Fence Back

I'm trying to remember to take pictures of the backing on each of these upcycled quilts i this series

Obviously I'm piecing them. Not much blue here - the theme on this one was yellow and blue-ish.

The quilting? A simple all over loop de loop - I find that pretty easy and looks very nice up close.  There is so much going on with this quilt that you can't really see the quilting much anyway. Plus it was a biggie.  I needed it to be easy.

I usually write about the top after I finish it, but before I quilt it. This one is a simple rail fence block, only two of the rails are made up of scraps and the third "rail" is actually a strip of off white fabric - a former sheet.  Super simple. Very effective. Just make sure your scrappy pieces have very little white in them and are med/dark so that the contrast is good.

And the quilt roll of course!

It was a gorgeous day when I was taking these pictures. A little chilly, yes, but beautiful!

This giant quilt I made 100"x112". I guess I just got carried away with it! It really did go together quickly and was super easy! Of course you could make it bigger or smaller easily by adding or subtracting rows. One problem - I used up so many med…

This giant quilt I made 100"x112". I guess I just got carried away with it! It really did go together quickly and was super easy! Of course you could make it bigger or smaller easily by adding or subtracting rows. One problem - I used up so many mediums and darks with this one that now I have a lopsided amount of lights left. Hmmm.

I did update the pattern with new pictures and it is here.

Have a great day, wherever you are reading this!

Don't forget to check out what my sis has for you over in the store!  Just maybe she has exactly what you need at a great price!
