QR Code Quilt top finished!
All done!
I was able to finish up the last rows of the top in the past week. I also added a small border to the edges just to make the pattern show up right for my QR reader.
When I first finished it, before I added the border, I tried to get it to read. Then I saw a couple of mistakes - so i fixed them. It still didn't want to read properly. I checked it over carefully for mistakes.
None.
Then I added the 2.5" border which made those outer squares square - then it "read" instantly"!
Here it is!
I know it doesn't look very square - but it really is. But before I continue working with it, I'm actually going to wet it and square it up and dry it "square" - maybe either pinned or taped to a surface to make sure it is nice and square before I quilt it.
I'm really quite pleased with it and am eager to get it quilted!
I'm putting it smaller here just in case the other picture is too big for you to see it all in one scan!
But, I can't promise to have this done by next week - as we are expecting some really hot weather again in the next week.
So, I'll pick this back up when I finish the top into a quilt. It is pretty small considering most of the quilts I make are either twin or queen size and this little thing is about 45"x45".
Your homework:
1. Do the last rows of your top - however many that is.
2. Add a small border - so that the outer round of squares are square!
3. Find your backing and batting fabrics - You will not need that much for this quilt - if you have wide backing fabric, then about 1.5 yards will be plenty with lots of leftovers. If you have to piece it, make sure you end up with a piece a few inches bigger than your top is (on each side).
And that's it!
I'll try to get to this soon! Now that I've got my table back - it's at least a possibility!
And that's all from my part of the world today!
- oh yes - one fun note - I don't feel like I need to watermark this picture! LOL
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you over in the store! I'm sure there must be something you can use!
