Strings/Crumbs update
I didn't get much done this past weekend on this project. Next weekend should be better. I mean, it was Easter weekend, after all!
My blocks started out at 9.5". I then sewed a white 9.5" square to a string block, cut in half and now I had 2 HST that looked like above. I trimmed to 9" and the blocks will finish in the quilt at 8.5" Kind of a weird size. I know.
So this is all I did!
I made up the strings blocks I had already finished into half square triangles and began my top!
I then put them together for the first four rows. The rest will go much more slowly.
I think I'm really going to like this strings quilt.
Easy? Yes!
Simple!
Not exactly rocket science!
This is the layout of the first four strips.
This is what it looks like after they are sewn together. Looking good! I'm going to want to try to get some more string blocks done this week so I have more to play with on the weekend! I'm really liking it!
Don't forget - this the plan.
But other than that, I didn't work on my Shadowed Crumbs quilt, my Woven star blocks or anything. But I did make this progress. I basically worked on it for 7 innings of a baseball game! And that's all. I just can't seem to focus on much of anything right now.
And don't forget - if you need something for your projects, be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
These 5 Fat Quarters are perfect for so many projects!
100% Cotton
Fat Quarter Yard (approx. 18" x 21")
5 Individual Pieces totaling 1.25 yards of fabric
These beauties are all part of Rachael's picks fabrics from Quilted Twins site. Five fabrics that coordinate and would work great together in a scrappy type quilt.
Because they are part of Rachael's Picks fabric families, you can order more yardage of any of the five fat quarters for backings, as well. Rachael plans to carry each of these fabrics as a regular thing in the QuiltedTwins fabric by the yard department.
