Entry renovation

My son and his wife are here in Poland for about 9 or 10 months studying Polish, specifically. Tim also likes to work with his hands as well. He's a great photographer, but also likes working with wood. After he finished the table - which I wrote about here, he and his dad worked on a bed for my son (and guests) - which is in my fabric storage room.  Then, as that project was winding down, I asked Tim if he would consider working on our entry area next.

I can call it a renovation if I wanted, but truthfully, it had never been really finished. So, Tim and Claire worked on it - for a while. Tim came over here and spent an hour or two or more at a time first fixing the lighting issues, cleaning out, painting - they chose the paint color - I left it up to them.

Actually I told them to treat it like it was one of the home shows where they redo whole houses/rooms, etc. Except of course, we weren't on tv and we don't have their budget/unending supply of sources.

This is what Tim and his wife did -

Before  - this is the angle as if you are coming out the front door and going outside. - yeah - it was a mess.  That's why I asked for help! He had just started to work on figuring out a shelving unit when he decided to stop and get a picture of the before.

Note - all pictures are courtesy of my son, Timothy Petersen

I did give away the piece of furniture to someone who wanted a MCM (mid century modern) look.  I was thrilled and he was happy! It had been given to us so I was glad to send it to a new owner!

After - he has this super neat fish eye lens that lets him get a lot of area in one shot! And it looks cool!

This is the angle as if you were coming into the area from outside.  When they finish the next thing (steps coming into this area), they will replace the front door (where he is standing to take the picture) and repaint the other door, probably blue.

He did several things - put in light fixtures and a light switch. Neither one of these were here before -

Fix the drywall around the chimney area

Paint the entire thing

They found the perfect rugs to match what they decided on for the wall color. He also installed the shelving unit, metal bars for hanging things and places to hang the bikes.

It is 100% fantastic and I am completely pleased!

I'm going to be the first to say that this is NOT quilting. But this is part of my life here in Poland. I am so happy this area is finished now - and we have a place for our garden paraphernalia and gloves, etc. when it is winter.

And that's it from my part of the world!  Have a great day wherever you are reading this!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you over in the store! She's working on things all the time. Be sure to check us first when you have a need. We might just have what you need!
