Winter Wonderland....finally!

I actually do have three quilts I need to get outdoors and get pictures of (I have finished quilting them) but I’ll wait a bit longer.

We have winter.

Finally.

The weather has been playing with us the whole season so far. We felt like it wasn’t going to snow and if it did, it wasn’t going to stick around. I realize winter doesn’t officially start until Dec. 21, but normally it gets freezing around the first of December.

Anyway, my quilt ruler and I went for a walk this afternoon - it was a gift that I received for Christmas. I love it already!

I took pictures of various places in our yard. Some have been used as props for quilts - others not so much.

This is a creative Grids 2.5”x 12.5” ruler - and I do like it!

We first went outside our house down the new steps my son finished not very long ago it seems - and for which I am so grateful! It makes it a lot safer to get in and out of the house!

Now, we don’t have a tremendous amount of snow, but my ruler and I went for a walk anyway. We like multipurpose tools, and there is no reason why my ruler can’t measure snow as well as fabric!

We checked out the area where I normally hang quilts on the line. Since there are so many trees there, there isn’t much snow on the ground there.

Then we decided to check out a garden bench - there is almost no snow on it - but Daniel used it for draping several quilts.

Then I found this trailer of my husbands, gathering snow. We’ve never used it as a prop - at least not yet.

Then a tree—Daniel used this tree as a prop - and there is almost no snow on it yet. As I’m writing this, it’s snowing at a pretty good lick out there so we’ll see what happens.

Then I decided to try the open part of the yard - where we placed all 21 quilts from the first batch of 2” quilts I made. Almost 3”. I figure that is what we’ve really had - or at least that is what would have accumulated everywhere if we didn’t have so many trees on our yard. But that’s okay, I love our trees - wouldn’t trade them for more snow!

Then, another trailer of my husbands - this one has been used as a prop, I think. I took a picture of the quilt Americana Stars draped over a trailer and I think it was this one.

And so it goes.

Our birds are happy that I refilled the feeders - we have four on our balcony and I had failed miserably and let them get empty - I felt very bad about that since with snow on the ground it is harder for the little guys to find food!

There’s a screen on our window. It makes it hard to get a clear pic of the birds.

And now you know.

It’s perfect weather for quilting, so I’ll get back to it ASAP!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
