It's Memorial Day!
I suppose most of you have figured out by now that I’m currently in the states. My second daughter graduated from college in early May and we flew over for it. I am almost ready to head back to Poland and back to a normal, or at least a more normal life. This one has been crazy!
While I will talk more about all that I’ve done while in the states, while I’m here, I’m somewhat hampered with the blog by the fact that life isn’t at all normal for me while I’m ‘on the road’. My mom, with whom I am staying, doesn’t have internet, so while I have it on my phone, I found that we were going through data very fast when using it all the time for internet. It makes taking care of a blog difficult. While I’m at the store I’m usually trying to work on something and not write blog posts.
Thus, you’ve not heard a lot from me lately. That should change pretty soon, however.
Today is Memorial Day in the USA, when we remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of fellow Americans. Many people go to cemeteries and graves and put up flags in honor of those who have given their lives in the military for the United States.
Some areas have parades.
One thing I’ve been impressed with is how many people come in to the store and get patriotic fabric. Most are making Quilts of Valor or their own version of such. Some don’t go through the official agency, but instead, choose to honor all current vets in their mobile home park, for example.
I know that while today is about honoring those who have died, I thought I’d share with you what fabrics and special things we have in the store if you care to honor those who are still alive with a patriotic/Americana quilt.
First of all, we have various fat quarter packs. They cost $7.50 each and consist of 5 fat quarters.
These are our Patriotic 1, Patriotic 2, Patriotic 3, Patriotic 4 packs. Each one is $7.50. You can click on the links and go see them close up.
If you want a whole bunch of fat quarters that are super nice, we have one (only !) big pack of 18 fat quarters and are offering it for $27. It is not on the site, and if you want it, please put a note in the comments and we will sell it to you. We only have one.
We do have some 2.5” strips rolls, commonly called “Jelly Rolls” - which is Moda’s name for them.

Each one is $25 and are 40 pieces.
Then we have various panels. They are pretty nice and are working on expanding our super nice patriotic panels. We have several, however that might interest someone who is making an Americana quilt.

We have quite a few 108” backings that are patriotic, and only $8.49/yard! Such a deal!
My sis has also put together several packs of collections of fabrics that you could buy - half yard packs.
