Decorator Pillows and Pillowcases - Country Links

Remember that quilt I’m making for the Farm Bureau? I called it Country Links..

Well, I thought it would be extra nice if I would go ahead and make up some pillowcases and pillows to go with it.

So I made 2 decorator pillows and 2 pillowcases.

Not everyone loves decorator pillows in their bedroom, so I went simple. I just used the same basic shape as in the quilt, only a bit bigger. I left the back with a whole piece of fabric that I used in the quilt top.

For making these pillowcases, I followed a You Tube video by Crafty Gemini - which shows, quite simply how to make these. It’s simple, easy, and looks great when finished!

The pillowcases were fun! I really like how they turned out.

I’ll add these to the quilt to make a complete Set. I still need to add a label to the quilt, so that’s on my bucket list of things to accomplish in the next few days. Then I can show it to you!

The fabric that I used for the main part of the pillowcase was featured in the center of the blocks in the quilt. I’ll show you below.

I know that the pillows aren’t very stuffed here - but we’ll get some 18” forms before we give them away. Right now they just have a little something in them.

I opted to go pretty simple with the decorator pillows. I know that not everyone even likes or wants decorator pillows on their bed! They do have a tendency to get in the way. But I figure pretty much everyone can use pillowcases!

I’ll work on that label soon. I want the Quilted Twins to get a lot of advertising out of this, so I want a nice one!

I’m also going to see about getting my sis to make up some fun pillowcase kits soon - for children - I know that many people make pillowcases for children in hospitals and special needs kids out of fun fabrics. I think we have plenty we could use that way.

Anyway, these are adorable - and yes, I am pleased. The quilt combined with these goodies will be a great door prize, I think.
