"Warp and Weft"
“It’s about time” I can hear you say. Actually, it’s been so long I doubt you all remember this top. It’s been languishing on my shelves for quite some time. I took the pictures of the top back in March of 2017. Since then it has been nicely folded on my shelf of tops.
It’s a simple rail fence design. Yes. rail fence. Here’s the block:
I quilted it with the swirls and round things I’m trying to actually get better with. I debated not using it since it takes longer than something like loops or meandering or even hearts. But I decided to go for it. i knew it wouldn’t show up very much but I figured it might help me like this one better.
No, nothing is actually wrong with this quilt - it’s just kind of boring.
Yes, it’s pretty, though. I like the effect of the two stripes in the middle of that busy floral.
For the backing I used some of the fabric we picked up in Morocco a 2 years ago (already?) when we went there!
The pattern has been on the free patterns page but I’ve updated the picture.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Just as I suspected, the quilting hardly shows up at all. But I felt like I did a good job on it in spite of that. Would I do this particular swirl again? I don’t know if it was worth it. But it’s a moot point since I’m not going to “redo” it.
So..have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you over in the store!
