So what "quilting related gifts" did I get?
I don’t normally talk about what I got for Christmas or birthday, or whatever,
But this Christmas my husband outdid himself.
He saw how much I love and use the Kai shears he bought me for my birthday in August.
It surprised even myself how much I love and use them!
They cut like butter. Seriously.
I like them better than my Marks, Fiskars and even I think I’ve had Gingers in the long past. These are better - easier on the hands.
(This does not mean that I no loner use my Fiskars, Marks, and no name ones - I do.)
He got me three more pairs of Kai scissors in various sizes. I am “over the moon” delighted!
The other things I got were some quilting books from a church that supports us.
Every year in August they ask what we want. I send them an Amazon wish list these days and assure them that if it is a book, “Used is fine!” Seriously. I don’t mind used books. They are used after I use them for a little while - as long as they are still in “good enough” condition - I’m happy!
So, these are some of the books I had asked for which they sent me!
The interesting thing is - that More Twist and Turn Bargello - I just seen that quilt made up (the one on the cover) in pinks and roses and a tad bit of orange in a Facebook group and I really wanted the pattern! (It’s waay prettier than the one she uses on the cover!)
I had gone to my wish list to make sure the book was on it as I had learned that it was in that book! So…I was delighted to see that someone gave it to me! Literally…it was less than a day that I had made sure that book was on my Amazon wish list. I had intended to get it for myself next time we go to the states (I tend to think long term like that!)
Yeah…I was excited. Now to get to making it. Got a couple of things to do first. The other bargello books has a couple of patterns that are interesting to me. I’m thinking.
I know the Judy Martin book is old by now but still some beauties in there! I can learn so much from her!
I know - I got a lot!
I feel like I made out like a bandit!
And now you know!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
