Quilted Twins

"Random Act" story continued

Well, you can’t out give some people!

Remember this story? It’s found here - in case you are a very new reader to the blog!

The young lady that I gave the quilt to that I made from her dad’s shirts wrote me the other day and asked me if I wanted another bag of shirts.

She and her family including her mom and husband, I think, went through some of their clothing and pulled out a bunch of shirts for me!

I went today and got them. The young mom wasn’t home, but HER mom was, so I got the bag from her.

Naturally when I put that rather large bag in the car, I couldn’t help but wonder what treasures were in it!

I opened it once I got it into the house.

Here are my newly acquired treasures!

So now…off to think of what I can do with these.

I did ask the mom who gave these to me (the daughter was not home) the age of the small children that the young lady has - and I found out - a 2 month old boy and a 15 month old girl.

Thinking… what to do.

I do have to do something about my quilts situation. I have reached a crisis point - too much coming into the house and not enough out (even counting the fact that charity quilts are gone)!

I suspect I will try to make something for them out of these!

But WAIT…………….

And you are going to laugh…but when I gave that quilt to that lady (Dec. 5 I think it was), I actually stopped on the way to her house (with her quilt) and picked up a small batch of shirts from another lady. The difference was…they were ladies’ shirts and a small lady at that. Different strategy. But that’s a different story for a different day!

Stay tuned for that!

And that’s my post for today.

What? You weren’t expecting ANOTHER finish were you? Nah! I shared three (Mosaic in Reverse, Churn Dash Squared, and Double Clusters) already this week. That’s enough already, I think. Plus, while I do have a couple more finished, I’ve not finished the patterns yet…another time. I really can only focus well enough to write part of a pattern at once. :) After that my focus is shot and I’m just spinning my wheels at the computer, not really accomplishing anything.

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
