Big Fabric Haul - end of month 5 update

Well, here are November’s tops. These are numbers 20-23 as I opted to make 4 for this month.

As you know, I’ve been extremely busy doing the charity quilts - first quilting and then binding. Since it is almost the end of November, I wanted to make sure I did something once again - even if they are super simple.

So, again, I made simple. The fabric is really nice to work with - once again, the 10” squares are sportswear. While I can’t say that I’m getting to the end of the browns, I have pretty much brought all of the brown fabrics home to cut up into 10” squares.

The rest of the fabric that is still at the church is black/grays. But I still have lots of the browns to work with. I figure I have another half year at least of these browns before I can think of starting to work with the blacks and grays.

I may have to make some that have just random patches - as in not color coordinated or graduated - esp. as I use up the colors. I can make lots of them with just random tans and browns, though. I’ll have to figure out something to make it look organized, though. I’m thinking about that. I have an on point layout worked up.

I decided that once quilted, I really did like the look of the super simple ones - here’s one with a plain sashing and border -

I’ve advanced now to printed sashing and borders, pulling from my huge stash. I even went over to the florals and pulled from them - just looked for a sort of tan based print. I like these up close a bit more than from a distance.

So, here are the four new ones. I used the same color scheme of the 10” blocks. The only difference in these is the sashing fabrics. I also made two of them with a bit wider outer border than the other two. I had wanted to make 6” borders, but I made it the size I could depending on how much fabric I had left.

My sis wanted me to mention that ladies in Poland seem to love brown! So, these are geared more for them! I don’t actually regulate what people take, though. If a man wants one of these, I won’t stop him from taking it.

Here are the four I did in one small picture:

If you are curious about this project from the beginning - I did make a page where I can put the tops and finished quilts as I finish them. I spent some time updating it. It’s here.

The good news is that I have almost all of the first 20 tops I made finished. I will now start a new collection, 4 or 5 a month!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
