Panels, Panels and more panels, Part 2
Part 2 continues…. We left off where I make the labels and leave them in dropbox.
I then laminate the photos and take the printed labels and the laminated front tray tags to the ladies there. They attach them to the front of the trays, and the printed labels to the front of the baggies. When it’s ready to go, a tray that is prepared looks like this:
Then, the fun begins. They will fill up a cart of trays and bring them over to the Panel room. Our panel room has just gradually grown, kicking all the fat quarters and pieces OUT of the room, and has now spilled out into the main part of the showroom.
We’ve dedicated one entire wall to the Dream Bigs, both regular flowers and the Leaves, and the interior of the Panel room is just tray after tray after tray of panels.
Even that wasn’t large enough, so we moved the Christmas and Halloween panels into the Christmas/seasonal room.
Now, that’s not large enough, so this past weekend, we decided to make each tray Two types of panels instead of just one type of panel, effectively doubling our showroom space available.
Cheryl and Margaret come over and check inventory and add needed panels almost daily. (Yes, we sell a LOT, because we have a lot of beauties!)
They will adjust the numbers on the site, and when the panels in the tray gets down to 1, they remove the panel and the basket, retire the number, and label and it goes to the standing hanging clothes rack in the middle part of the store. The LAST CHANCE PANEL area serves as a practical block to part of the store that we’re not prepared to have people wandering into.
We have daily consultations about which panels are selling, which ones we can get more of, and which ones are our favorites.
Lately, our customers have been bringing in some beautiful quilts, with our fabulous panels as their base.
Here are some of the latest ones! I’m going to leave all these pictures BIG so you can see them well!
Greg made this one with our metallic grunge and Jesus and the children panel.
Katie Tucker made this gorgeous one with our fairy princess panels, and coordinating fabrics.
Anita Love brought in her beautiful finished Peacock quilt, also using some of our coordinates and some others that we located in the store.
Anita also made this one with our dinosaur panel and some of our dinosaur fabric!
Debbie St. Cyr did up the pumpkin panel with borders, making it look wonderfully fall..
Linda Bishop of Dade City found our gorgeous Butterfly Pavilion and bordered it some of our stunning Marble fabrics!
See, a panel makes a fabulous center for a stunning quilt!
Thanks for coming along on this behind-the-scenes look at what happens when we new bolt of panels in to the store!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Even if you don’t think you’ll like panels, I’d encourage you to try one today! I think you’ll love it!
Colors may vary slightly Though we attempt to represent our fabrics accurately, sometimes screens show things differently, as well as eyes see things differently.
Quilt panels are perfect as a base for a quilt, or if you want to cut it up for a themed quilt. If you want to make a small quilt, you could simply add borders on the sides and top and bottom out of coordinating fabrics. Becky has done that for her charity quilts many times.
