It's been a Label Making Day (or two)!
I’ve been going at making these labels in the last couple of days. I needed to get two big labels made and applied to two special quilts and then, while I had the embroidery machine set up, I decided to just go ahead and make as many as I can right now for charity quilts.
I was almost completely “out” of my labels from last year when I finished up the 120 charity quilts. It helps so much to have the labels made and ready to go when I get going into production mode!
Let me interrupt this note to say that my mind is flying around in all different directions because the plan is for me to get on a plane on Saturday morning and attempt to head to the states. My husband will follow at a later time. Needless to say, that leaves me a bit discombobulated. I’m always going in a hundred directions right before a trip. I’ve not wanted to talk about it much because of so many things being in the air - as well as putting it out there on the web - that I’ll be gone. However, this time, my husband is staying back in Poland for a while longer.
I say attempt because of all the uncertainties about everything. My sis said that when she sees the whites of my eyes, she’ll know I’m here! :)
I’m doing four at a time on my embroidery machine. I’m trying to use up some Sulky rayon embroidery thread that had been given to me several years ago now. They are tiny spools, so I am glad to be able to use them up this way. When they were given to me, I looked up the whole collection and it was originally over $100. However, I find myself reaching for the Madeira Polyneon when doing actual embroidery, so I decided to use all this thread up with making labels for the charity quilts. So that’s what I’m doing.
I went ahead and made the label for the Farm Bureau quilt and also for my friends who are getting the blue bargello.
Here’s hoping that both quilts make it through and arrive safely at our destination in the states.
So now you know. My machine is working hard and I need to keep popping in my sewing machine, fixing broken threads or empty bobbins or replacing empty thread spools! It’s keeping me busy for sure!
These labels did actually take me most of a day - the two large ones. I had to design them - I use Embird - and then get my machine going and then stay in the sewing room and change thread often. But in the end, I like how they look. The one color charity labels are that - one color - on purpose. To make it easier on me.
And that’s one of the things I’ve been up to lately!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
Colors may vary slightly from what is portrayed. Screens vary as well as our eyes sometimes see things differently, but we've made every attempt to have the color be accurately portrayed.
