A Couple of Quick Projects!
I needed to make pillowcases for FAM 1 in the Noble Packages project - and until today I hadn’t had a moment to be able to focus on them. I did get them finished! I wanted them to coordinate with the quilts that these kids were given.
Here they are!
They are as follows -
—the sports one for the oldest girl
—the ones with camo on them for the second girl
—the pretty pink ones with shoes or hearts for the girl with diabetes
—the Spiderman and vehicle patterns for the older boy
—the fire truck ones for the baby boy
If you haven’t made any of these colorful pillowcases for anyone yet - try it! I honestly didn’t understand the appeal…until I did some! (Why did I feel that way? They seem kind of pricey as I understood pillowcases…) Now, I’m hooked. I don’t make them all the time, but I do like the ones I make!
And I will say that the ones they sell here are appalling. I was going to buy one for each of the kids at the home goods shop, Jysk, but when I saw what they had to choose from - I just couldn’t spend your money on those. The quality wasn’t good and the fabrics were just not nice…much less anything interesting for these kids! I’ll be contacting the handler Friday to find out how to get these things to them!
And then I wanted to take some more of those double sided receiving blankets for a lady who has started coming to our church in Otwock. She had a baby boy about a month ago. I didn’t take the time to make her anything while I was focusing on the charity quilt project AND her baby was in the hospital for a while due to issues with the blood. Plus it is her 4th boy - so not sure she actually needs much of anything.
But we’ll prepare her a bag of diapers and all that good stuff - plus I’m giving her one of the Geometrics quilts - the one with the red and black - on point.

And now you know - a couple of the quick things I’ve made recently. I’m itching to get back to really piecing, though! I mean, seriously!
Today I had to spend time cleaning up more - in my dining room and getting the living room ready for the Christmas tree. Then my husband and I put it up. I know it’s late for most of you, but really just right on time for the Polish people - if not even a little earlier than 50%. Old timey tradition was to put it up on the 24th.
I also prepared some fabric for making some reusable Christmas bags. I’ve been wanting to do them all year - but still haven’t done even one. I think once I do one or two, I’ll probably go on a roll. I have so much Christmas fabric and really don’t do anything with it since I have 2 Christmas quilts already!
I’ve probably watched 3 tutorials on how to make them - and am thinking about how I want to do them. :)
And that’s it for today. Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
