Geometrics 10 - Black and White Lap or Baby Quilt
Well, I had already done several with many different colors, but not just black and white. I decided to try it with number 10.
I was not really happy with how busy this one looked. The “color” with the rest of them sort of helped tone down the feeling of busy-ness and clashing of designs.
But just in case this is “your thing”, here’s the layout that I used. Those sashing pieces were cut 2.5” wide and the two whites on each side were cut 1.5”. So in summary, the centers were cut 2.5”x 11.5” and the white strips on each side were cut 1.5”x11.5”. The 4” cornerstones were made using a center 2.5” black square and then surrounding it with 1.5” wide cut strips. So the two on each side were cut 1.5”x 2.5” and the top and bottom were cut 1.5”x 4.5”. The sashing strips and cornerstones all finish at 4” wide in the quilt.
And that’s it for this one. It was quick and easy. Seriously. Well, I suppose the cornerstones added a bit of complexity to it. No. Just kidding. Compared to most of my other queen size quilts, every single of one these is pretty “quick and easy”.
But sometimes that is exactly what you need or are looking for!
