"Rails in Focus"
I really hate to admit how long ago I finished this one and yet haven’t featured it. Why? I hadn’t written up the pattern. Why not? Well, it was first one thing and then another. Maybe it was plain old procrastination! I can always find something else to do - as you know!
But this one - maybe I felt like it was a cop out because I used the colors as shown on the Electric Quilt (EQ) program. Yes I did! This is the layout as shown! And I didn’t change the colors!
I decided I liked the colors that the default program used - so much so that I wanted to just “go for it” and make it like that! Wow. I hate to admit it. But I did. I went to my bags of 2” strips and picked out yellow, pink, purple strips in these colors and make this one up!
OK…I will admit to making one other quilt like it not too long ago - but it was also the colors of the bundle pack that I already had! :) But I digress.
I was a tad bit disappointed in the colors that it ended up because it wasn’t as brilliant as the plan. But that’s my fault because the fabrics I chose were just lighter in colors. But in a way that’s just how it works when working with scraps. Obviously if I had gone to my stash, cut out wonderfully fully saturated strips from the colors indicated, my top would be equally as colorful and rich looking! But that wasn’t my point!
I chose to quilt by using my walking foot and a wavy line.
The quilt roll - as usual -
It was a chilly day back in January. However, we didn’t really have too much “really cold” weather. Not this past winter!
I took all these photos in January when it was cold outside and kind of dark outside. Yes, that is how long ago I actually finished these! It’s kind of humorous to look back at them now that it is July and light til pretty late into the evening!
I did write up the pattern. It’s here.
I also updated the 2” strips quilts here. I hope someone can use some of these ideas!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
