We're Fine! We are really!

So what have I been doing during this time of sort of “stay home” guidelines by the government of Poland?

At the time of this writing, there are over 600 cases and 7 deaths here in Poland (almost 40 million people).

  • Staying home. (mostly)

  • I’m trying to do a bit of cleaning up.

  • I’m also trying to cut up scraps an hour a day. Yes, an hour a day. I haven’t done scraps since 2017, I think it was…and it was long overdue.

  • I went into my fabric storage room and organized it enough to put all my “need to cut up scraps” into bags…so I at least know where I need to go. It’s kind of depressing. This project may actually last all year. I’m working hard on it now but I didn’t do what I should have the first part of March. So…

  • As I’m cutting into strips, I’m going to cut up some scraps into apple core pieces and make one of those quilts. Possibly I’m crazy. Not sure yet.

  • I also cleaned out my solids bookcase. It had gotten kind of messy. I got it organized again. I also put away some fabric pieces that had just piled up on top of it.

  • I’m trying to do some sewing, naturally. One project I’m doing is a “2.5” strips quilt” (commonly called a “Jelly Roll”). Actually, it may surprise you, but I don’t have many of these things, and I’m trying to remember if I’ve actually ever used up one. I’m loving how it is turning out - in spite of the fact that it is a no-name one that came with the lot of fabric my sis and I bought in ‘15. I’ve used 2.5” strips quite a few times, BTW…just not bought many “Jelly Rolls”. The ones I do have are just sitting here in my house. Time to change that.

  • I’m trying to stay in contact with what’s happening the world over. I’m not really worrying - but trying to be careful. I want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

  • I’m trying to stay out of the stores, but I think I’m going to call my local findings store and get more batting (50 meters) today (Monday) just in case I am actually “quarantined” at home. They really can make it so people can’t leave home - and if that is the case, well, I have charity tops and backings - I could finish up 20 of my 2020 charity quilts without any issues!

  • I’ve got my first two “Upcycled GREENS” quilts planned.

  • It may seem crazy to you, but I planted some sugar peas - first package (3 short rows) on March 10, another package (3 short rows) on March 20. I’ll do another package around the 30th of March. It kind of gave me a sense of “normalcy” to do that, actually.

  • Working on paperwork - the “T” word. Grimace. Sorry to even bring it up here on this “happy post”.

  • I did finish up the brown/red mystery quilt (“Old World Fantasy”) completely and have the grays/blues colors together and will start that process on Monday (today). I will release the first clue on Friday and I’m doing that one along with you - week by week! I’m working on that as well.

    But we are fine.

Thanks for being concerned!

We do have two COVID-19 cases now locally - our immediate area - so we would love it if you would remember us and our health in your prayers - if you are a person of faith. Thanks! I know many of you are.

And there you are - an update on us personally from here in Poland!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
