"Simple Drama" - Geometrics 6
This quilt consists of a rail fence block and a very easy sashed block.
As much as I loved the red, black, gray and white together, these are the only two I made from these colors. Maybe because I felt like it was “too easy”…?? I’m not sure why, actually. I think I could have easily made 5 or 6 out of these colors. I was trying to spread the colors around though. I knew I could, at least in theory, use red with these geometrics for several of the quilts. I was trying to expand my horizons, however.
I’ve really only made one other red, black, and white quilt before - and it has been a huge hit with viewers. I’m not sure why, either. I mean, I thought it was fine - but the popularity of it every time I show it kind of boggles my mind. It’s here.
I did add the red and white polka dots piece in the middle of that backing once again.
I had bought that black fabric years ago now (before we started our business - so before 2016 or so) and had bought a lot of it - back when fabric.com used to have great Black Friday sales. (They quit having them last I knew.) I used what I had for 3 or 4 of these quilts, however, and it’s about gone now. That’s fine. I bought it for backings!
My sis has a lot of great backing fabrics - all at $8.99/yard - every day!
The quilt roll - once again -
The red makes this one quite visible from a distance. I don’t think this one looks like a baby quilt at all. However, in someone’s living room? Sure!— Especially a more modern black/white living room! Or, of course, as an accent in a bedroom.
I updated everything - the Free Patterns page with it here and the Geometrics page here. Take a look if you want.
I think doing these has made me want to try a few of these patterns with some other fabrics I have - maybe some really wild “other prints”—not necessarily geometrics.
Anyway…we’re marching forward with this short series. Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
Colors may vary slightly from what is portrayed. Screens vary as well as our eyes sometimes see things differently, but we've made every attempt to have the color be accurately portrayed.
