Fidget Mats and More Fidget Mats!

Ewa came over the other day and brought alone some more fidget mats that she has made. I told her I’d feature them on a blog post.

What I want to do is make a page on the website somewhere with each of these mats BIG so you can see them for ideas at any given time. I’ll be working on that - when this charity quilt push is over.

Let me say that I am so impressed by Ewa’s creativity. She uses what she finds or is given - for the most part.

A lot of the things here are upcycled materials - in fact, almost all of it is. I did bring back some beads and such for her to use from the states. When you see those little animal beads or colorful “pony beads” - well, I brought those over. They are quite expensive over here if we can find them at all!

So here goes! I’ll try to show close ups on many of them because she has such great ideas. I put those in a slide show after these photos.

Ewa also got a sewing machine in the summer, and still feels like she’s learning to use it. These mats are a great way for her to practice manipulation with her fingers and making the fabric work for her. Otherwise, though, she is a beginning seamstress. I am so proud of her accomplishments and strides! She is having fun with it as well!

I will say that they are far more interesting than what I’ve seen people do with just zippers and pockets. It is really up to me now to begin to find homes for these! She’s giving them to me to do that. I’m telling myself…”When these bindings are done!” She wants me to go through them and do some pulling and checking for seams that are strong enough. etc.

Here are some of the fascinating details to these mats. You can click through the pics faster if they aren’t going fast enough for you!

Anyway…Thank you so much, Ewa!!!

I hope these can be an inspiration for any of you who are looking to make fidget mats.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!

If you need something from the store, be sure to check it out here!

Here’s something she has. If it isn’t quite cold enough where you are to feel like winter yet - get this and just put it in your living room with a binding on it - guaranteed to cool you off!
