Another update on those charity quilts!

There are 20 in each of the stacks on the floor plus the growing stack on top. I will soon have to take that particular pile off as it will fall over. This pictures shows 70 quilted quilts. The “messy things” on the right side are the tops that are sandwiched and waiting for me to quilt.

As of this writing - which is Monday evening my time, Nov. 2, I have quilted 72 of them - but not finished any.

On this one, the blue background Lone Star quilt top (middle) was sent to me. I added the rest.

The center of this one was sent to me - and you can see that the middle black is darker than what I used. I asked my husband if he thought anyone “wouldn’t take it” because the blacks don’t match. Hmm. Guess I’ll see. I’ll quilt it, then wash it and…

Hmm. Guess I’ll see. I’ll quilt it, then wash it and maybe it will crinkle up and people won’t notice! :)

I have another 17 sandwiched at the moment, for a total of 89 sandwiched. I am working hard on finishing up all the tops was given by readers of the blog or Facebook group, or people from my sis’s email list who sent them to her in FL previous to this year (2020). I had quite a few and am determined to quilt them all in this particular “group” of charity quilts. I’ll tackle the new ones people sent me in 2020 in 2021. The Big Fabric Haul and other charity quilt tops will be filled in wherever I can fit them in.

On this one, the colorful middle was sent to me. It was a small Around the World top.

I sandwiched some of the ones I called the “Amish colors” today - and hope to almost finish (sandwiching) them tomorrow. I’m still considering how I will quilt them.

I’m using that bright butterfly fabric for the backing on them.

Several of these were sent to me as rather small tops- the smallest being about a 25” square. I needed to make a 60”x80” top out of them - so you can get an idea of what I’ve done.

Then just a couple of pictures of a fabulous top that someone sent me with quite a bit of embroidery on it - bear themed. Adorable! Love it! You will see it eventually!

Once again - I find myself wanting to apologize for showing even more charity quilting, but this is what I’m doing.

We also went out to a store about half hour away to get something for our basement where my husband is doing some remodeling and fixing the room that flooded years ago. (He needed tar paper.)

But this is what I’m up to—so I’m telling you about it once again.

I was planning on showing another quilt I finished quite a while ago now but have never shown (my husband just brought it up from the basement and I washed it), but felt like talking about these tops. I’m excited to get going on those black (“Amish colored”) based quilts but want to quilt them in the daylight with the window blind open since I believe I’ll use black thread! And even though I have lots of light, quilting with black ON black fabric isn’t all that easy.

I’ve heard rumors that they are going to announce a more severe lockdown possibly tomorrow, so I may run to the store and get another two bolts of batting tomorrow.

I’m getting close to running out anyway, of the last batch I bought - but may up my buying a day or two earlier than I had thought if the store has it in their stock. I’ll call in the morning to check. No use driving there if they are out - even if it is only half mile away! I told them two weeks ago I’d be back in about two weeks. :)

Have a great day wherever you are reading this. Stay safe.

Do you need some fabric? Check out what we have in the store!

One of the things we have is this beautiful bundle that my sis put together.
