Another Gift Quilt - Dinosaurs!

I was folding up some panels for my sis when I realized actually how cute this enormous panel was!

This panel is a 7x6 layout. That’s 42 different dinosaurs!

My brother was in Florida along with me, helping mom in various ways. He mentioned that his grandson Joe, would absolutely love something made with dinosaurs as he is fascinated with them - in fact, at his very young age - 5, he wants to be a paleontologist!

So…I decided, “Why not? I’ll just put a border on this thing and call it good.”

My brother had mentioned that he is in a bunk bed and having it long and skinny would be just perfect. I would have preferred a more proportioned quilt, but that is what he wanted. I just added a border from some coordinating fabric.

We asked the long armers to quilt it with a dinosaur pattern. It turned out wonderful.

There is no pattern for this quilt because literally, all I did was add a little strip of black to the top and bottom before I added the coordinating border - cut 5” wide. I did not add the black to the sides because there was already black on the top itself.

Then, because I wanted it a little bit longer, even, I added another strip of black to the top and bottom. I wanted to make sure it will be okay for him as a quilt to sleep under as a teen should he still be fascinated with dinosaurs!

In the end, Joe loves his quilt! I hope he gets many years of enjoyment out of it!

Here’s a small picture of the actual panel that you will get - apparently I overexposed mine outside in the FL sunshine! I tried not to do that, but I think I did! Sorry! It’s truly an amazing piece of fabric!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Thanks for coming along with me on my quilting/sewing journey!
