"Bear Falls"
Finished!
Yes…one of the first few I finished after all the charity quilt tops were finished in late December, 2020, was this one. I’ve not shown it here until now.
I’m smitten with this one. Love it. The panel is beautiful and reminds me of Brooks Falls in Alaska - the lower falls, that is. This is where the brown bears eat their fill of salmon every summer before they go hibernate for the winter.
All I did was add some bear paw blocks to the top and bottom of the quilt top and add the appropriate size blocks and sure enough it was done.
It did go together reasonably quickly - as quickly as those bear paw blocks allow a person to finish. Half square triangle blocks are slower than simple squares or rectangles - at least they are for me, so I can’t finish a top like this nearly as quickly as one that doesn’t have such pieces!
The backing - I had almost enough of the green - but not quite enough, so I added a couple of strips to it so that it would be large enough.
I had used the rest of the piece of green that I had for a different quilt.
I did finish the pattern! It’s here!
And that’s it. I am gradually getting back into the swing of things!!! So glad!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
Here’s one of the beauties we have! So…maybe it does look like Christmas…get it now and use this winter anyway - it’s so pretty!!!! And for us, anyway, the snow is just now coming! (or at least that is what they say)
