“Dream Big Delight” (Wild Rose) - a Quilt Panel Kit
My sis and I were walking by the Dream Big panels and she asked me to think about what we could do with them. She told me that people like them, but they don’t necessarily want to do custom quilting and they don’t know how to use them in a quilt. It is actually difficult to find long-armers who will custom quilt and many of us quilters don’t have the confidence to quilt each leaf differently in an effort to show off our skills - or lack thereof!
Naturally I want to work with what my sis has in stock and/or can get easily. There isn’t a lot of point in making something for the store if my sis either can’t get more like it or can’t help people when they inevitably tell her, “I want to make one just like it!
So, I came up with this design.
These patterns which are part of the quilt kits are available separately as well, should you wish for the instructions on what is needed to make this beautiful quilt!
We are using Grunge on these as it is delicious in texture and wonderful quality. This Moda fabric goes quite well with the Hoffman panel! Maybe someone shouldn’t tell them what I’m doing, though! ;) Actually, this is what people used to do all. the. time —combine fabrics from various designers and lines until they had exactly what they wanted. Nowadays we have a tendency to let them do it for us!
Anyway, this quilt ends up being about a 60” x 60” quilt - so a really nice lap quilt size. It’s beautiful! It surprised me with how stunning it ended up, actually. I love these colors, so I thought I’d like it, but when finished, I fell in love. And we wanted you to have the chance to do so as well.
I have found if I try to take pictures early in the day with the strong Florida sun, the colors are all washed out. So, I’ve learned to take them just after the sun goes over the horizon to cut down on the brightness. This brings out the colors and helps you see how truly beautiful they are!
With this quilt, you have now seen three of the quilts I’ve made so far since I’ve been in Florida. It seems like it is “quilting light” - as they are all panels - but this is what my sis is asking for me to do - so I’m trying to oblige and make some of what she needs! (It’s also about all I seem to be able to focus on at the current time with the other things going on around me!)
I trust you have a wonderful day!

Here’s one of the beauties we have!
