UP Greens #24 top finished - no name yet

The next UP greens top is ready.

With this one - I had a lot of this checkered fabric - lots of it. It had been curtains - and apparently I probably had a couple of sets. I cut the centers of each of the blocks out of the same fabric. That is the inspiration for this top. I wanted to make some big progress on using these fabrics up - and knew that if I make some blocks with mostly all greens - well, it goes faster than when there is a lot of white or cream. Somehow it works that way. I also could use this checkered fabric as the center of a bear claw block. To me, it looks like it would work well for that.

But this is what I did. It’s very simple.

And one thing. I spent a long time laying it out. I think as I was working, I got some things twisted. My only goal on these was to not have two identical blocks “touching”.

After I got done, I noticed the ‘darker’ blocks seemed to be in sets of 3s or 4s. That actually made me smile as I don’t think my original plan was that. Oh well.

I went with slightly darker blue cornerstones and light blue sashings. I only had this much because I was gifted more blue shirts after I finished up my UP blues series.

(I have since called a halt to those donations as I couldn’t keep up with them.)

The next three quilt tops I’m working on have more white in them - so they will have a different look than the last few.

Just a review - where am I on this UP Greens series.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Thanks for coming along with me on my quilting/sewing journey!
