Volunteers at work!

The other day I had a bunch of people here as I needed to get some things done.

What did I need done?

I needed batteries in head lamps and flashlights.

Also I needed some medical first aid kits put together with a little first aid pack.

We also needed to put together 10 more charity quilts into their tote bags. It was humorous to watch them work together! These are the charity quilt, towel, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, bottom sheet and tote bag combos.

Then I needed quilts measured and put in these clear vinyl cases.

I also needed some duvets put in covers and then a set of bedding put in the bag along with a sheet of paper saying the size.

I had promised pizza to our young volunteers if they could give me a few hours of their time.

And so we did!

They had a little bit of fun checking out some of the things that had been purchased. One thing that had been needed badly was a huge pair of boots. I managed to find them and Albina just had to try them on!

They were an amazing pair! In US sizes—a 17.

Someone suggested that they look like Smurf feet.

After they finished and we ate, we waited for a group that was coming to pick up a bunch of stuff - they played a game, until about 9 pm. At that point, we were tired and the younger set all left. :)

Oh, and everyone here except my husband and I plus the lady with glasses in a blue hoodie are Ukrainians. They were all great help!

And now you know - just a few glimpses of what was happening in my house one evening this week!
