We Took Another Trip to Buy Fabric!

We went to Kejt again - a fabric manufacturer/seller in a city about 1.5 hours from us.

I know we went last September - and I’ve wanted to go back- but conditions didn’t allow it (as well as need) - but when I was told about this group of refugees in Ukraine that need fabric to make sheets (bedding) and blankets, I knew we needed to take another trip to Kejt, the fabric producer that I really like that is about 1.5 hours from us.

We had a lady come in to be here for a few months, Rachel, in the afternoon, so we needed to go right away in the morning so we could get back.

So we left at about 7 am and was there before 9 am this time. I went in and looked around. I had a certain amount that I wanted to spend so that Mike could take when he goes to Ukraine with fabric and blankets. I did get photos of the inside. As I walked around and pointed out what I wanted to get - a lady was writing it down and a man was taking my bolts and putting them on a cart which was then put in the van.

When you shop here, you have to buy a whole bolt at a time. Most of them are 50 meters - some are 100.

I also had gone to another place on Friday to buy some blanket fabric - and the owner of that store was able to get more of the same for me by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. And sure enough, while we were driving home, he called me and said the fabric was in.

We stopped by on the way home and picked up that fabric as well. We had a young man who is visiting with us for a while, Josiah. He was kind of cramped after we picked up those bolts.

Then we stopped by the church and dropped it off to wait a couple of days til we load it all up again in the trailer.

I had to hurry at the big store, Kejt - but they were very well stocked. It was a wonderful visit!

We left most of the fabric at the church to load into the trailer. I told my husband it is going to be hard to let it go (sorta - I know in my head they will be thrilled!). Doesn’t mean I find it easy to let all those fun fabrics leave! :) But Kejt was very well stocked, so I can go back when things get less hectic.

Anyway…we made it back home in time for me to put some chicken in the oven at noon for dinner at 1. :)

Thanks for coming along with me on this journey!
