Progress on Second 9 Patch with purple, green, blues

It was a holiday so all was quiet otherwise.

I did work on some of my vinyl packages in the morning and then we (my husband and I) took them to the church building for storage.

My helper, Lena, headed to Ukraine yesterday with her daughter, so I just worked a couple of hours on my own. Not a big deal. It was nice and cool this morning so I had a lot of energy (when it gets hot, I don’t seem to work as well). Don’t worry - Lena is coming back. She said she’d only be gone for a week.

But I did make the 9 patches I need for the diagram showed below to the left.

I already had 39 with the black, but I didn’t have any with white as the alternative squares, so I came upstairs to the sewing room and made that one remaining needed with the black and the 40 with the white.

I pulled out some strips from the 1.5” bag that was closest - in the colors I want to use on this quilt. I came to the computer and found out I need 178 rail fence sets. These rail fence blocks will be 3.5”x6.5” which will finish at 3”x6” once the quilt top is together.

I also transplanted into the garden four of my zucchini plants. They were in peat pots, so hopefully there won’t be a big shock to their system.

I also have several more zucchini plants coming up in a bedding area. Later this week it is supposed to be warm, so hopefully they will grow enough to transplant.

I want to have a LOT of zucchini. They are so fun to grow - I tend to give pretty much all of them away, though. They are just so productive, usually, and a real boost to confidence of any gardener. :) I also have a lot of friends who really do like them. Maybe I’ll learn to use more of them. I have a friend who makes zucchini lasagna. I’d like to try that. :) I wonder how my husband would like it - more importantly. With only the two of us at home, everything I make I have to consider that.

And that’s it. It was a nice quiet day.

Have a great day - wherever you are.

Thanks for reading and coming along on this journey with me!
