Step one in Processing all those Quilts - Get Supplies!

Managing all the supplies needed to work with those quilts I got last week will be the challenge for my summer - but I’m up to it.

Let me share the first one.

You know those vinyl cases?

When I first saw them on our local auction site they were 4.99 PLN ($1.17) for one. After I bought them a few times, they suddenly jumped to almost double the price to 8.99 PLN ($2.10). That kind of irritated me a bit - such a huge jump. I started doing some searching for another source of them. I also searched to see if the company that was selling them on the site had a website.

AND they did!

I found them on their own website at less than what I had before!

I was kind of afraid if I showed my hand that they would raise the price as it seems that is what happens. I show people I’m interested in something and next time I order, the price is higher. I realize it may not be that at all - it might simply be the rapid inflation that is happening. Just saying what it seems like is happening. :)

So, after ordering another 50 from the auction site (at 8.99 PLN - $2.10- for one), I decided to swallow hard, and order the 2000 cases at 4.40 PLN ($1.03) I think I need to process all these quilts from their website.

This sitting on a queen size bed - just to show you how big the boxes are. This is what a box of 50 looks like.

Sure enough - a phone call not more than one hour later.

To make a long story short, they wanted me to create a wholesale account.

I did.

They fixed the purchase order, and changed how they were charged - and they prepared the order for 2000 cases. They were going to send them via pallets and send them all at once. That all happened last Friday.

We got them today.

We also had to go to Warsaw today for something else (it took pretty much from noon on) - but thankfully they had wrapped them well in plastic - as we were expecting rain.

By the time we got back from Warsaw, it had started to rain, so Mike moved them into the tent area. I had gone out and patched any of the open areas with more plastic wrap and tape before we left for Warsaw. The day you are reading this, I hope to organize them better - will have to unwrap them - and arrange them on pallets out of the way of the other boxes we have. We have a place in mind, but we will have to move them ourselves, box by box to that place. But they are much lighter than the 100 lb boxes of quilts that we have.

Mike moved them with his tractor and they are safely out of the rain now.

I have been working on inventorying the first 11 boxes and with the arrival of the vinyl cases, I can get back to work on processing these wonderful gifts from you.

Thank you again so much for all your help in all this effort!

Have a great day! We do appreciate you so much! Thanks for reading and joining my journey!
