More Patches Arrived! Thank you!

I thought I’d take today and show you that I received two more patches for Edek, the volunteer in Otwock, who always dreamed of having a patch from a firefighter in the states!

I received from two people right away - but just recently I received these two.

Aren’t they amazing?

Let me give you the details!

The first one to arrive comes from NC - Albemarle County.

Thank you so much, Linda. I’m working on finding a patch for you in return. I’ll see what I can do.

The next one just now arrived - from my Mark, my brother-in-law’s brother. This is Rachael’s bro-in-law, in case that wasn’t clear. This one is from Shanksville, PA - and this is the fire department that responded on 9/11 when the plane crashed in the empty field in Pennsylvania after the people on the plane heard what happened and refused to give in to the terrorists and allow them to crash into a building in Washington DC.

Along with this, Mark included the story - so I’ll translate it for Edek so he can read it in Polish without having to do the work of translating handwriting.

These are very special! I will do my best to get these to Edek in the next few days.

If you want to send me a patch from a fire department in the states, it would be great! Edek was so excited last time when I gave him the first two (three, actually). If you are new here or didn’t see the other posts - this guy has been a volunteer working with the refugees and told me that one of his dreams was to have a patch from a fire department in the USA as he has worked as a volunteer fireman here in Poland for 40+ years. I wrote you all and said in the light of “life goals” this is a pretty easy one to fulfill - and asked for your help.

What I’ve promised is that if you send me a patch, I’ll send you some Polish folk fabric in return - in appreciation. If you wish to send me a patch, just stick it in an envelope, possibly wrapped in a paper towel or in a card - and I should get it.

Our address -

Becky Petersen

ul. Wiazowska 75b

POLAND

If you keep the envelope small, it should come through just like a letter…with no issues.

Thanks again for your help! I appreciate it so much! Have a great day wherever you are reading!

Oh - and because you asked - here are some more beauties - donated by you all!

In a couple of days I’m going to start to show you some recipients with their quilts.

I have some from here in Poland - refugees - who received some quilts. I’m hoping to see some photos of people in Ukraine where we’ve sent some - eventually. When I see and hear something, I’ll let you know. Most of you probably realize there are Ukrainian refugees both here in Poland (and other places in Europe) but also in Ukraine. There are many, many who have fled their own homes and are living in various camps or places in Ukraine that are not their own homes. Even people who stayed put are suffering some intense hardships due to 1. no work (which means income has stopped) and/or 2. lack of supplies. So, it’s all helpful! Thank you again!
