November 2022 Strips cutting report
Excuses, excuses, excuses.
This month I am just full of them!
But I made myself at least do SOME cutting. I had to - for this report. You know there is a reason I make myself do a report. I have to do some cutting as a minimum so I won’t be embarrassed. Of course, if I just skipped it, it wouldn’t be that big and probably noone would even think about it.
But I do.
So this month this is what I did.
Wait. Just a sec. When I am all caught up and don’t do a report - that’s great - all is dandy. When I’m not - which is how I am right now - it’s because I’ve been choosing to do other things. And that is bad. These are now sitting in my dining room and I’ve got to do something about them.
So here is what I did do.
2.5” strips - 8.49 lbs.
2” strips - 2.64 lbs.
1.5” strips - 1.54 lbs.
This makes the total for this year to date as on this table.
And since I started cutting and keeping track - this is where I am. I guess with these totals, I have now surpassed last year - which is something, I guess. However, for four months last year I was in the states due to helping mom after her bout with COVID.
Those years that are missing - I didn’t cut. And ever since I did that, I’ve been trying to make myself trim regularly. I had so many from those times I didn’t do anything that I was so overwhelmed and I had taken bags of scraps to my storage room at the church to be dealt with later! (BAD GIRL!) I did deal with those bags, however, and there are no more bags of scraps at the church. I was actually afraid I might just start collecting at the church. That actually SCARED me - and forced me to get going on them!
So here are a few of the quilts I’ve made with these - just a reminder of what you can do with them! This is the same design - in three different sizes. This is the pattern called Mosaic - and you can get the basic pattern here.
Thanks so much for coming along on this journey. I’m so eager to get back to using some of these 2.5” strips - I spent some time yesterday on the computer just coming up with some new ideas - just need what everyone needs - some time. :)
Have a great day, wherever you are reading this!
