October 2022 Strips Cutting Report

This month was different. I actually spent quite a while gathering a bunch of scraps that I located in my sewing room. I had just thrown everything up there back in March when we were suddenly inundated with guests. Then, gradually as I wanted to get back into sewing, I needed to figure out a way to make my sewing room (more) workable again. I started to go through everything in there - and found more scraps - yes, I did! - to cut up.

There are actually two of those blue bags - that’s a lot of cutting! I probably won’t finish by the year’s end - not with all of these.

This is what I’ve got that needs to be gone through - and THEN I will be caught up.

Such a joke.

Will I ever be caught up with cutting up scraps? I think as long as I keep working on tops, the answer is probably no. Not unless I just give them all away.

And I’m not ready for that.

Anyway - this is what I did in October. It was a lot less than September - it is what it is. It is more than if I didn’t do any, right?

1.5” -

Since I did so little this month - I didn’t realize it was QUITE so little til I measured, however, but this does make the totals look like this:

And this means that my totals SINCE I started look like this:

I’m currently working on another top that uses 2.5” strips. :) Hopefully within the next 7 days the top will be finished. I really do enjoy piecing and am glad to get a couple hours or more a day to sew again! (or more!) My problem is, I’ve gotten out of the habit! I like to sew, and want to get back into it instead of sitting at the computer - though there is plenty I can do here!

Anyway, thanks again for coming along with me on this journey!

We changed time yesterday so it is getting dark quite early for us already. About 4:30 pm. I hate it, but I have to live with it, so I just need to head to part of the house with a lot of light so I don’t think it is time to go to bed!
