"Enclosed" - Leftovers Blissful Bounty Finished!

Yeah! Another finish.

I really wanted to finish this quilt up for a lady in Ukraine that I’ve never met. I met this lady’s daughter, Lina, when she came to visit her friend, Rachel, here in Poland.

I normally don’t make such big borders as the top and bottom of this one.

BUT I wanted this one to be a single European size - or about 60”x80”. SO, I had this really cool Farmer’s Market fabric and I didn’t mind using it to make this middle into the size I needed.

You could easily make this one into a lap size by simply using that middle idea - where I just cut 3.5” squares, sashed them with 1.5” cut strips and then put that interested frame around the center with the half square triangles on the corners.

I just had this green blender in my stash - it’s a simple green blender that my sis has. The tan is also a blender - just a tone on tone - matches some of the fabrics in the center squares.

I pulled out my bag of small batting pieces - after making two charity quilts with small pieces, and decided to try one more from that bag. I did have enough for it - though I knew I needed to quilt closely as there were quite a few small-ish pieces. I wanted everything to stay very well in place in spite of the small size.

This Blissful Bounty pack has so many different interesting fabrics that I knew I wanted to use up every possible inch of it. And this quilt did that. I had only about 2 squares of mushroom fabric left when all was done.

My sis still has some of these Blissful Bounty packs. They are here.

This is a leftovers quilt - meaning that these pieces were actually leftover after making the quilt shown below. As such, it isn’t a part of a pack. As a result, I thought I’d make the pattern available for you. It’s here.

The hardest thing for me about this one is figure out what to call this quilt. It’s such a simple idea - just small squares with sashing. It would be such an easy thing to use all kinds of scraps for. I’m calling it “Enclosed” because all these small squares are in a frame with a little corner detail.

And the free pattern is here.

The quilt roll -

Enjoy!

I’ve mentioned that these are leftovers from this pack and another quilt top I made. Here’s that other top. I used those same two fabrics - white on white and blender green for this top. I wrote about this top here.

It’s been a while since I’ve finished a quilt that isn’t technically a charity quilt. It feels really good, in fact. I’ll have to do it again, soon! :)

Have a great day wherever you are! Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.
