"Wild Wild West" quilt top finished

I had this amazing bundle from the store called Wild, wild West!

I liked the fabrics that I got with this - they are simply wonderful. Every time we visited my Granny in Florida when we were kids we got to watch the tv series Bonanza - and those were good days. (We didn’t have a tv in our home.) This bundle pack made me think of those days and times.

Plus, my dad wore cowboy boots almost every day. He also liked western shirts and had a couple of those string ties as well. He was from Montana.

Since this bundle pack didn’t have a panel with it, I sort of made a center. I designed a cowboy boot block - after looking at about 3 different ones on line - and decided to go with 2 boots - in reverse - with that special southwest fabric in between them. This, in effect, makes it look almost like a panel - a smallish one.

To make this top work, I did add a solid cream and a denim blue. I freely admit that had I used a slightly lighter blue, the design of the outer border would have shown up better.

However, I didn’t. That’s not what I had.

Now that you’ve seen tidbits, here’s the whole thing.

It finishes at 86”x110” so nice and long.

I know - it is busy in the middle. But it’s actually pretty cool. The designs of the fabrics are super nice and so is the fabric quality.

I had almost NOTHING left when finished. Seriously. It was just tidbits here and there.

When making this one, I decided that for obvious reasons, I wanted to leave this scenery fabric in a large piece. So, I cut it in half and left it the same width of fabric. I actually worked the top to that point to make sure it was the same width as that fabric.

So there you go. This is a fun one. I hope you like it! Studio E makes a great quality fabric and you will not be disappointed in this bundle pack!
