Prepping for the Pasco County Fair

Among other things, I helped Rachael set up part of the handcraft section at the Pasco County fair today - the building where all these things are being held.

I am really a bad person to do this as for the most part, this isn’t my forte. I don’t enjoy decorating (and I hate taking everything down even more than putting them up). But, Rachael needed a few hands to get the quilts, bags, crocheted items, and other things that were given to be displayed up and shown.

I wanted to help because I haven’t actually been to a fair since I was young, but I do have fond memories of our local fair…and want to help spread awareness and community spirit!

We really could have used more—a bigger variety of things such as knitted and woven items and other crafty type things.

This is just what it looks like at the beginning - things piled here and there.

But it’s okay. We put up what we had and should finish up on Wed. afternoon getting ready for this part. Later in the week those bringing in food items and plants will bring them for the judging which will take place on Saturday.

I did put in 6 quilts, so we’ll see. The judging is not something I really care about that much - but I just wanted to help Rachael fill up her Collura Cottage - which is the building where all these things are going.

I will show some more pictures later - when we get all finished. But I don’t want to spill all the beans and share all the photos with you at this point!

If you are local and CAN come to the fair - well it starts at 4 pm and goes til 10 pm every afternoon/evening starting next week.

Thee website is here…with all the information you need.

The fairgrounds are located very close to my mom - by car it’s just a about 2-3 minutes over there.

And that’s all for today! Thanks for coming along with me on this journey! Have a great day wherever you are reading this.

Question for you - have you even entered anything into a local or state fair? If so, how was it? Was it fun for you and would you ever do it again?

Feel free to browse the site.
