What have I Been Doing?

What have I been doing?

While I’ve been here since February 9, I’ve been able to make up a few tops for my sis, bind a couple of quilts, and write up some patterns.

I’m starting to wind down on my projects. Next week we return to Poland.

So far I’ve made

  • 3 pillowcases for mom

  • Designed and made Florida HOME. I also made up a bunch of kits ready to sell.

  • Designed and made another Florida-ish quilt - called Fun in the Sun - TBA

  • Designed and made Florida Charm. I also put together some kits.

  • Designed and made Take Me Away.

  • Designed and made World and Planets - TBA.

  • Designed and made top Tropical Checkerboard - TBA.

  • Designed and made top Beach Dreams - TBA.

  • Bound a quilted piece of fabric for my sis for the store (printed to look like a quilt by the manufacturer).

and anything else I’ve made, I’m kind of forgotten about. As I finish binding several quilts that have been quilted, I will get photos of them.

Note - I’ve not been doing the quilting on any of these. They are and have been quilted by two different long-armers who are local - Beth and Doug Martin and Diane and Jeff Hissong. Both have been wonderful to work with!

And yes, this sewing, designing, working in the store, making kits, etc. has left me TIRED! I know that people back in Poland THINK that I’ve been sitting at the beach with my feet up.

But at least it’s been a change from normal life in Poland. I’ve enjoyed being here - the only thing I’ve wished is that I could not be soo tired! I realize that many of you live this way all the time - exhausted all the time.

When my kids grew up and left home, my life was never as hectic and tiring again.

Anyway, time is drawing nigh and I’m almost ready to leave again. I hate the thought - and saying goodbyes are the main part of traveling that I hate. It is worth it in the end, but so difficult emotionally!

I thought I’d sort of summarize at least part of what I’ve been up to while here. I was given the materials this afternoon to making a couple of pillowcases. I’ve not done it yet - but hopefully soon.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey! Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
