"Made Ya Look" with 2.5" strips and squares

I made my original Made Ya Look quilt with 2” strips. It looked like this.

I ended up giving it away.

However, I was curious if I did the same type of quilt but used 2.5” squares and strips - would it look very similar to this?

I suspected it would.

So here is the 2.5” strips quilt.

I even quilted it in the same way as I did the smaller squares one for easier comparison.

I went through my strips that were already cut and tried to find strips that had a lot of white on the background.

Of course the big negative of this particular quilt is that there really isn’t a focal point of the quilt. But then that is where the “Made Ya Look” title - and you just want to look through the squares and see if you can find something to see.

I did quilt on the diagonal - just like I did the first one. This meant that this one, also was quilted on my domestic machine. I just think it is easier than on the long-arm.

I do like it - but don’t love it. It looks pretty much like the first one, but I did use more new fabrics in this one than in the 2” one so the other looks a bit more faded. I had already used up a lot of the fabrics that I had used for the 2” one.

But in the end - it does make me want to scan the squares and check it out.

Here’s the quilt roll.

I did make this one not quite as large as some quilts I’ve done. It’s just over 82” x about 96” long.

I had finished this top in early 2022, so I’m glad I was able to get this one quilted.

Field of Wonky Stars

Oh - I did one with more of my low volume fabrics and 2.5” strips and made this one on the right. You can see a lot of the same fabrics I used in this current one.

It’s always nice to have another finish. And so here is one.

Have a great day wherever you are reading!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
