Test Pattern #49 updated - FInished!

Well, I finished it! All done!!

FINALLY.

This one has been years coming. Not to say that I’ve been working on it for years - but rather, I’ve WANTED to for years.

I went to work by taking all the piece that I made up from this container.

(Oh and the great news is that I made exactly the right number of everything - no more, no less was needed. I was thankful for that as I was not 100% sure I had made the right number of each block).

If you have been following along with me on this particular story of this quilt, then you know I made these blocks:

Plus the accompanying ones which help round out the design.

Yes! That’s all. It took THAT long to make just three blocks. But as you can see - the blocks are somewhat involved. PLUS the finished quilt is about 102”x102”, so that’s something.

This is one of those quilts that is put together on point, so I ended up with pointy sides until I trimmed them off. This is what it looked like after I was finished putting it together but before I trimmed.

Then, once I trimmed, this is what it looked like.

Here it is - with a straight on view.

Just to remind you of what I was working with - here was the plan and here the Electric Quilt (EQ) mockup I was aiming for.

I am always so pleased and sometimes surprised when they come out so similarly to how they look on the computer. But they do.

And here is a comparison to the original Test Pattern #49 with this one.

Sigh. I really should have just gone ahead and made THIS one the first time. That first rendition looks like a mouse ate the sides off.

Anyway…at least I have the top done - which is the biggest, most time consuming part of this particular quilt!

Thank you all for coming with me as I’ve worked on this top. I did try to break it down into smaller pieces so if you wanted to do it with me, you could in theory, anyway, go back and do parts 1-6 and then put it together as I did!

I will be updating the pattern into this revised version. I think it is far superior as a design to the first.

Thank you again for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!!!
