Test Pattern #49 revision, part 6

With this update, the parts to this top are now all finished.

I’ve spread out making these pieces into a several-months long project! Wow!

But it’s been a grind.

I’m doing this pattern - in case you have forgotten. After all, it’s been since September 23 since I last updated you. That’s so hard to believe. Time is just flying!!!

I’ve making the blocks - one part at a time as while I enjoyed making this the first time, this second time, it’s been quite the job. Of course, I’ve been trying to do it along with a whole lot of other things going on in my life. But I’m so close to being finished - it’s exciting now!

Anyway, this week, I wanted to make 64 of these blocks.

So first I cut the pieces. I actually had to look back at my instructions for the pattern to see how I told you to do it last time.

Anyway, I used a TriRec Ruler. Well, this time I couldn’t find both part of it - but my husband made me a 60 degree triangle - which I was able to use. I then found the side one - the smaller ruler - and cut the yellow with that one. I did a very thorough explanation in the pattern I already made (I know because I reread it this morning before I started working on these.)

Anyway, I pulled out the yellow I had been saving for this particular project PLUS some small pieces that were in my stash so that I’d have a variety of shades of yellow. I then chose kind of dark or should I say, saturated prints for the center part.

I cut these pieces.

Then I spent a good bit of several hours sewing up the blocks.

Once the 64 blocks were pressed, I put them in the bag along with all the others! It’s quite a collection of pieces - that is for sure!

This will make a quilt about 102”x102”.

I now should have all the necessary parts for this top - ready to actually put together.

So hopefully in a week or less, I will have it done. I sure hope so. I expect this one to take me a good solid day of sewing to put together. Maybe it will surprise me, however, because all the pieces are done and they aren’t all really small.

However, there are just a lot of sashing, cornerstones and other blocks. Because it is somewhat ‘busy’, I will really need to give it my attention when I do it.

I know when I just glance at the pattern, it ‘feels like’ the main block is this one.

But in reality, that’s not even a single block - instead, it is this one.

So there you are - this one is going to be finished very soon. I’ll try to have it done by the end of next week so I can share it with you here!

Since it’s one I’ve been wanting to have finished since making the original one, You may actually feel that sigh of relief I will be sharing from this side of the ocean!

Thank you again for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading!
