Am I the only one?
I’ve been thinking about a lot of serious things lately.
Several people I know have either passed away or had some serious issues.
One friend had a stroke and is in the hospital right now with complications. I don’t know when she will get to go home.
Last I learned she can’t move one arm or maybe it is her leg. Whatever it is - it’s pretty serious. Plus she has been struggling with pneumonia - so she could use your prayers - we are asking the Lord for her to get her strength back. She’s also an American living here in Poland. In fact, I did make her (them) a quilt a few years back.
Another person, a beading personality, I had just discovered on You Tube died in an accident on my mom’s birthday (August 29) - I had written her a message and chatted with her not that long ago.
A former English student of mine had brain tumor and passed away in July. I just learned about it. All of these people were/are in their 40’s, I believe.
So, all this mortality has helped me to consider a few things.
(None of us know how long we have on this earth. I don’t know and neither do you - where we are going to spend eternity is most important - but that’s not the point of this particular blog post.)
Among them are these types of things.
For example.
I’ve always heard to not save that beautiful china/dishes for special days - use it every day or every Sunday, or more often than 1x a year because, well, why not? Make memories every day.
Along those lines…I’ve been thinking.
Do I have some fabrics that for some reason I’ve been saving for “something very special”? Yes I do.
I am going to think about making something with it. Maybe several somethings.
Do you? Do you have some fabric tucked away for an unknown but very special project - maybe it’s so pretty or unique that you don’t want to even use it!!!
Am I the only one?
I have quite a bit of fabric that I would love to use - I have whole shelf - well, half a shelf - of words fabrics - I would love to make something with a lot of it. I also have some more beautiful Polish folk fabric - very nice fabric. I’d love to use it.
Also I’ve been considering -
Do I have some people I’d like to make quilts for? Yes, I do.
Maybe it’s time for me to put those quilts on my list of quilts to make.
Am I the only one?
This is partly the reason I have decided to make that quilt featuring the animals of Kyrgyzstan. For some reason that young lady just stuck in my mind after being there.
Tell me - if you have fabric you are holding on in order to save for that “one quilt” - what is it about that fabric that makes it so?
I’m just wondering.
Am I the only one?
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
