Another Finished Quilt - “Blue and Tan Stars”

This quilt is one that I made years and years ago. Seriously now, this was one of my early quilt tops that I made when I first started realy making scrap quilts. I know because many of these fabrics were from my shopping locally at the secondhand shops.

I finally finished the top this year. It’s just a “Blue and Tan Stars” quilt. I made it as you see it with some 4 patches and then half square triangles to form the star points.

I am so relieved to have this one finished. It’s been hiding in a corner somewhere, just waiting to be quilted. I’m not particularly enthralled by it. I mean, there is nothing actually wrong with it - but it just doesn’t hit me as very exciting or pretty or anything. I guess to me it is sort of “blah”…will definitely keep someone warm. If that person happens to love blue and brown and isn’t too picky, they could actually love this one.

Close up of the fabrics:

I am not counting it as part of any series as I made the top so many years ago. Most of the squares, however, are 2.5” so it would use up a lot of your scraps if you so desired.

It’s a biggie again, and a nice queen sized quilt.

The quilt roll:

After more than 15 years, it is relief to get this one finished. I really have no idea how long ago I made it - maybe even more than 15 years ago. In fact, it probably was more than 15 years ago that this top has been languishing in a pile somewhere.

So…here is a big YEAH for a finish!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
