Update on those Christmas Stockings!
Some of you may remember the call that I put out a few weeks ago now for sewists who would like to help out making Christmas stockings for an organization in Zephyrhills, FL.
If you missed that blog post, it is here.
It explains everything.
Well, I was working away merrily here in Poland on whatever I was doing on my computer and in comes a photo from my sis from the store in Florida.
This wonderful lady brought in 41 stockings she has made already!
I was shocked to see that anyone made some so quickly!
But she said that the day that she read the blog post or the day after, a neighbor brought over a lot of Christmas fabric from someone who had passed away! She knew instantly what she would do with them! Then she proceeded to churn out these amazing stockings for that organization!
And aren’t they wonderful? They are beautifully made and so pretty!
Once again - if you want to make some stockings, you can follow the instructions in the original blog post linked above and either send them to us or bring them in to us by July 15 or take them to God’s Share in Zephyrhills, FL. They will be used to fill with all kinds of goodies for Native American children in various parts of the USA for Christmas 2024.
Thank you again for reading here and for responding. If you want to make some of these - we are happy to facilitate their getting to the Kim Short from God’s Share!
Once again - the main lady making them for God’s Share is 90 years old. I know that they all would appreciate some support from some of the rest of us who might have energy and time to help. Most of us have fabric in our stash. :)
Thanks again - I just wanted you to know. It was absolutely amazing to me that someone responded so quickly to my blog post. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so surprised. I am delighted - actually - but the speed was what completely surprised me.
If you want to make some - or maybe several of you would like to get together and make a group of them - that’d be a great social activity!
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
