Got another box from Fran!

I did! I did! In fact I got a box which came right when I really wasn’t feeling very well, so the box sat in my living room for a while, unopened.

But I did open it and found these goodies!

These are all for charity quilts for local people. Obviously I can send them to Ukraine or anyone, really, I want to. They are for people who need them.

Here are the smaller tops

And the larger ones.

This box cost over $100 to send it to me - a small fortune!

I appreciate so much all that Fran has done through the years for the local people here in Poland.

For now I will pack them up and take them over to the church building with me until I get to work on them. I have probably 50 or 60 ready to go already in the long arm room and don’t want to make it so full down there that I can’t move. So for now, at least, that storage room at the church will work well for holding these for me. I will probably start working again on charity quilts soon.

I’ve managed to get a bad cold this week - and it is ridiculous. I feel like I just got over that other thing I had for a month! (OK, I did hear that in Poland, anyway, that vicious virus has been taking people a good month to get over.) This definitely just feels like a cold, though. Anyway, yes it has sapped my strength and energy to do much more than whatever is necessary for existence. I have been sewing, but not setting any records. You’ll see what I’ve been doing in future posts.

The really cool thing is that I got all the boxes I sent myself from the states! There were four of them. That means that even more quilt tops for charity arrived a couple of days ago as well. Some of you sent them to me. They were set aside and put in a big bag to go to the same area for me to deal with. I’ll put the picture here.

I also now need to deal with all the stuff I got in the boxes. Of the four boxes, about one box was equivalent of quilt tops for charity, some things I sent from my son and DIL who are coming over in June, and the rest was fabric. I’ve already taken out all the Lori Holt fabric and put it with the other fabric I had in two containers. The other stuff is just piled up. Now I will go through it carefully and sort it by type and work it into my stash. I’ve taken out quite a bit to be used in the several Lori Holt quilts I hope to make in the upcoming months. I’ll try to keep those fabrics together so I don’t keep going to the stash and searching for the fabrics that work with her style.

Anyway, I do appreciate Fran. Her work and faithfulness is always an inspiration to me. Even when I don’t feel good I am touched by her generosity towards us and the people in our area. Fran, if you see this - thank you again!
