Charm Club Continues-- Month #5
Last year at the Houston Quilt Market, we decided that joining the Charm Club by MODA, with patterns made by Me and My Sisters Designs would be a fun monthly club to be a part of, in lieu of a traditional BOM (Block of the Month.)
Most of you know how I feel about BOMs, and that is that for me, as a store owner, it’s hard to keep track of that many moving parts. I like to ship things off to you in ONE package, so that all the moving parts are in one envelopes, so BOM clubs don’t work for me.
Plus, all 2 of the BOM Clubs that I’ve tried have had problems, meaning that the company that made them required for me to contact all the subscribers and send them something that they had forgotten in that particular month’s club kit, creating bad will for me and the company that made the kit.
Well, I always feel bad about that, because I know how it works with me.. getting something where it needs to go, when it doesn’t come in with the rest of it, can, at times be challenging! In fact, I often have to order it again, because it gets put down somewhere, and never makes it join the needed appliance or project, as I live a very, very distracted life.
So, when I saw that each month, each kit was a complete quilt kit, in and of itself, I got REALLY excited about it. Plus, I could have samples made up of these months in advance, and we could get ready in the slower months for the busier months. In addition, the patterns are done by someone else, thus relieving Becky from the stress of being sure that everything is perfect.
So, I paid my (what seemed to me) huge amount of money, and jumped in with both feet.
It’s been a blast. Becky has worked hard to create all of the 2025-26 12 month’s samples, way ahead of time, and the girls (Jessica and Sarah) helped me pick out which quilts we should make for which month. We started the club going in June, after we had recovered somewhat from the SHOP HOP.
These are small quilts, able to be done in a day or two, and can serve as baby quilts or wall hangings. If you buy two kits, you can make a nice lap, and three would get you a twin size, in many cases. We are putting the pattern, the fabrics and the 5x5” pack of fabrics all in a really nice plastic project bag with a Quilted Twins sticker for you to remember us by! Each month you get a new project bag, so if you don’t have time to sew them up right now, you can just keep them in the bags, and sew them all next summer, when you might have more time. They also would be fabulous as retreat quilt projects.
So far, these are the Month Club Kits.
Month #1 and #2
Month #3 and #4
and here’s the new one.
The pattern is called Sparkle by Me and My Sister Designs.
This particular quilt is absolutely beautiful. We made it from a Benartex’s 5”x5” pack called Pumpkin and Spice which includes adorable mushrooms, leaves, daisies, along with other forest type things. It’s also a nice sized quilt, with the end size finishing out at 38.5” x 46.5”, one of the biggest ones we’ve done yet. The price is the low, low one of $34.
When you sign up for this club, you are NOT automatically going to be sent the quilt kit. However, you will automatically get an email letting you know when the kit is ready and you’ll get the link to it on the website, with the price for the month.
We know that sometimes people hit a snag; either they have something rough going on financially, and can’t afford something, or 2) they don’t want to do it. To avoid having to make you stop and cancel it, you’ll just get an option to get yours ordered.
This month, the Club Members have only bought half of the available kits, which I found amazing, as it is a lot, lot larger than last month’s, and a super fun, super cute fabrics. So, their loss, is your gain! We have lots for you all!
You can get your kit here.
If you love it, it’s a great quilt for a baby, or a small person’s lap quilt, or you can buy two to make a nice sized lap quilt.
We do have a few of some of the previous month’s club kits still available HERE, and I just bought into next year’s club, as I was able to find a supplier for some great priced Charm packs, so I can keep the cost down!
I’m not sure you all realize quite how hard it is to keep the prices as low as we do, but it’s a lot of work, and when you all notice and order, it makes our day!
Now, you have a grand time sewing. This one is especially beautiful!
