Charity work week summary

Well, this summary won’t be too long because I did finish ALL the bindings!

I got really tired of the details of doing the bindings and then winding them and counting them, etc.

So, I just worked extra hard on Monday and finished them up! Really!

I was so tired of even thinking about them and about how it was taking me so much time. I did kind of ‘cheat’ if I want to word it that way, which I don’t really, and made a bunch of those red polka dot bindings because I have 10 Mickey Mouse panel quilts for next year and they will go very nicely with them. Plus, a few more because when I was cutting them, that is how many all that fabric made and a red polka dot binding will always be useful.

Saturday - many minutes - I really just did bindings - so the cutting, sewing, pressing, and rolling them up

Sunday - ? don’t know how much time - I just pressed today - as we have cheap time and I had enough already sewn together that needed it. No picture as it is just an iron and ironing board photo.

Monday - several hours - I finished pressing the last of the ones I had already sewn together and rolled them up. That took a while because I had managed to press another 25 bindings between Sat. afternoon, Sun and Monday am.

Then I saw that I only had 13 left to finish my goal of 120, so I went ahead and using my blues strips bag (plus a couple from the browns/tans bags), pulled out long-ish strips from it and made up the rest of the bindings so I could reach my goal and be done with this endeavour. I was pretty sick of doing these.

So I closed the lid and have not thought about bindings since then. As I need them, if I don’t have the right colors, I can always make more from my 2.5” strips bags.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
