"Haberdashery"

I managed to finish up this cute quilt.

I mentioned before that I never want to do a quilt as small as that Apple-licious quilt I made. That was simply too small. If I were going to do that one over again, I’d add at least one more row each direction. I finally got it photographed so I will be showing that one soon!

Anyway, this one ended up being 60”x63”.

While I have no particularly affinity with hats, I thought this was a cute design and it represents a different time and era of life.

I used mostly Lori Holt fabrics.

The main block looks like this. I did draw it up from seeing it on another quilt on line. I don’t have an official pattern and because of that I’m not going to give instructions.

It’s the kind of thing if you know how to figure things out, you can make the block. Otherwise, try to find a pattern on line for sale somewhere.

I did opt to add a couple of borders to this quilt with a blocks border as the inner one and then that blue denim-esque fabric as a wider border.

In the end I really like how it turned out.

Cuteness overload!

I can see that some of the hats had colorations that worked better than others, but overall, I’m very glad I made it. I didn’t use any one fabric line. Some of the fabrics were not even Lori Holt fabrics but rather, just tried to match the colors/style of her fabrics.

I chose to use this fabric as my backing. It’s definitely NOT a Lori Holt fabric, but I felt like it went with the feel of the quilt.

Here’s a nice close up of the wavy line quilting.

The quilt roll:

I did just use plain white as all that background and not a white on white.

I also quilted it with wavy lines which I did on my regular Janome.

From a distance -

So here is the next of the Lori Holts I’ve managed to finish.

Let me show you this series so far.

So here you are. I hope you have enjoyed seeing them!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
