“Show Off” - Fancy That Design House!

I know that can’t be the real name of this quilt top, as I will probably just call it my original Show Off.

I wanted a record of this fantastic line of fabric AND these are the colors that my husband loves.

So, yes, I am planning on keeping this one for us.

We currently have as one of the quilts on our bed is my original Show Off! I keep it on there because we (I) just like it. It has cotton batting so it is a heavier quilt (heavier than poly) and it is just an attractive quilt. It is one of my original upcycled quilts. I noticed the last time I washed it that the binding by where my husband has it by his head, is wearing thin.

ANYWAY, this is this one.

It’s about 97”x97” so it’s a really nice sized for our queen bed.

I have made this ultra simple idea so many times - it’s when I want something on the fabrics to just be seen - or as in this one, I really loved those big florals, and this gave them a chance to be enjoyed.

Because by this time I was down in my amounts of these amazing prints, I decided to just go ahead and make Show Off. I know that some of those fabrics aren’t all that fantastic - as in, I don’t need to show them off, but shrug, it’s fine. They are all part of this line.

Usually I make this pattern these days when I want to use my focus fabrics - or I Spy type fabrics.

I’ll share with you each of the quilts with this pattern so you can see it. I do have one featuring airplanes that I’ve not made it up yet. However, this one has pushed me into wanting to make it up since I already have it all cut out which is the hardest and slowest part of this quilt sometimes.

It didn’t take too long to make the sashing and cornerstones even though I usually make this quilt the same large size.

I was able to cut down some misc. scrap pieces into those 2.5”x5.5” piano key border pieces. I liked how I chose the darker pieces. For the most part. I did that because I have plans for all the rest of the lighter fabrics - the corals and aquas plus the tea stain. Should I share with you what I hope to do with them? Maybe I will some other time. The other two I have planned have more intensive piecing than this one was.

How let me share those other quilts I’ve made with this same pattern.

This one makes number 5 in this set of quilts using the fabric from Fancy That Design House line of fabrics called Foraged, Found and Hand Me Down by Stephanie Slewinski. We have the fabrics here -

If you are someone who loves these colors - you should consider getting this line of fabric - it has been so much fun to work with! A lot of people decorate their houses with these types of colors!

Thanks once again, so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
