Our Heat Wave!

W are expecting some hot weather this summer. Some years we don’t have a whole lot of VERY hot days. This year we are expecting some effect of the El Nino effect that is coming to Europe this year.

Now normally our weather is moderate to even cool. We can have warm summers, but we do not have summers like in Florida, obviously.

I find myself a bit “off” up when it gets too hot. I don’t feel like doing a lot. But, two years ago my husband purchased us 2 air conditioners that we can keep upstairs where it gets the hottest. We put one in our bedroom and one in my husband’s office which pretty much keeps us cool upstairs. My sewing room doesn’t have one, but because it is sandwiched between our bedroom and my husband’s office, it stays ok unless I do a lot of ironing.

So what is hot for us? Let me show you the next week’s predictions.

Now remember that many people do not have air conditioners. The people I feel sorry for are the ones who live in apartment buildings who have many floors and are way up high. It gets progressively hotter as you go up.

We may get a tiny bit of rain in the night, but we probably won’t get much. We are kind of dreading Sunday at church with no a/c. My husband, who preaches, gets especially hot. I told him we can set the fan up so it blows right on him.

Polish people, generally, do not like to be in the way of moving air, as they believe they will get sick if subjected to it. As such it is sometimes difficult to set up fans, for instance, in the back of a room to move all the air in a room. They don’t like it.

Because of the heat, people will be trying to stay cool any way they can. We live near a very shallow river and many will escape to it to try to wade in it and sunbathe nearby.

I will just try to stay chill and not overwork myself and stay cool. For those of us not used to almost 100 F, it is no joke!

Rachael does have some very nice swimming fabrics Check them out here! Just click on the photo and it will take you to the fabric.

Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
