What am I working on as I travel?
While I was still in Poland, I decided I wanted to work on this quilt found in the book Quilty Fun, so I cut out the solid fabrics and brought them with me. It’s only been since we left FL that I’ve had time to work on it. I brought it out while we were staying with our youngest son and I have been working on the tulips.
As I worked on those blocks, and actually finished the necessary tulips, I realized that I seriously overcut the fabrics needed for them! Instead of 30 tulips total, apparently I cut enough solids for 30 tulips from each color!
Oh My! Oh my!
Anyway, I guess I have enough extra fabrics to make plenty of tulips. I did not, however, cut enough green for that. So I’d need to come up with more green for the stems and leaves if I decided to make more tulips.
But here I am working on this one.
I am trying to use the colors of tulips as found in the book layout. We’ll see how it turns out. I think there are too many yellows up top, but that’s probably by reading the color of yellows/oranges wrong. But it’s okay. It will all be one beautifully colorful quilt top!
I am thoroughly enjoying this one. I had also cut the rectangles from my Lori Holt fabrics there in Poland and was determined to try to get this top together. I am fine in taking it back to Poland to get it quilted.
So there you are - I am trying to get a chance to sew every day if at all possible! And I am thoroughly enjoying the chance to sew again - for fun!
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
