2026 Charity quilts #1-10
You knew these were coming, right? I’ve had them in my living room for some time now, unbound. Now that the room at church is finally ready and can hold them, I want to clear out my house of charity quilts shortly after getting them quilted. No more holding on to them for a month or more til I get them finished. Hopefully I can do better than that.
Here are the first ten I finished for 2026.
By the time you read this, they should be stored in the church building until I’m ready to give them away.
It’s exciting to me anyway. I will run out of labels very shortly, however, and I need to start looking around for some fabric I can use to make some more. I mean, I can always use a plain white or something like that but I enjoy using up fabrics that otherwise I can’t think of a way to use - often something a bit thicker or bottom weight fabric.
I may find some denim sitting around - it doesn’t really have to be white.
Anyway, I will be setting up the embroidery machine to make some more labels very soon— maybe in a few days. I had about 60 labels to go towards the charity quilts for this year.
The most popular colors I often use are gone, so I’m really reaching for trying to match the label to the backing color or print. I don’t really show them in these photos, as it doesn’t really matter.
But that’s where I am.
Thought you’d like to see how these first ten quilts look in my newly reorganized room!
Yeah!
The thing is, this isn’t just 10 quilts. This is the first 30 quilts. I had help from a couple of men so I just asked them to help me take them all up to the room. I didn’t count
I have been so longing this year to start piecing again - but have kept putting it off in order to get all this charity quilting done. I am feeling very frustrated about the lack in my life, but I’m starting to see the end in sight or at least the beginning of the end. As such, I am starting to feel a little bit less frustrated.
Thank you so much for coming along with me on this jrouney.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
