It’s Memorial Day!

It is difficult to say “Happy Memorial Day” because of what this day signifies. I still remember when I was a kid, on this day going to our Christian school in Tacoma, WA, and they took us out to the big flagpole in the parking lot and we have a little service. They solemnly lowered the flag (or raised it - can’t remember) while talking about it. It was moving for such a child. We left there when I was 13, so that was all before then.

It is a day where we remember those who have died for our country while serving in the military.

As a result, it is a sober day of remembrance. In the Commonwealth countries UK, Canada, Australia, etc.), they actually have a day called Remembrance Day - but that is November 11, which is our Veteran’s Day.

Anyway, due to the occasion, I wanted to take a few minutes and share some of the patriotica/Americana things Rachael has in the store. Maybe this is something you would consider making into a quilt or table runners.

First - we have some packs. Click on the picture to take you to the page where the item is featured.

Then, we have a whole bunch of panels. These are just some of them.

We also have this very cool pattern - it can be found here. It’s an involved pattern with applique and such, but isn’t it nice?

Now isn’t that a fun pattern?

If you’ve never made a patriotic quilt/table runner etc, well, you should consider doing so.

ALSO…don’t forget about the Quilt of Valor Summer Challene Quilted Twins is having.

I know I just wrote about it on Saturday, so I won’t belabor the point, but there is stil plenty of time!

Oh, and no, we don’t celebrate Memorial Day here in Poland.--at least not on the same date as the USA.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
